The Leaf Spy Pro application offers Nissan Leaf electric vehicle owners the opportunity to monitor critical battery and vehicle information, typically accessible only to dealerships. Compatible with Android devices featuring Bluetooth and a supported ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter, it opens up a new realm of insights for users.

With the recent update to version 0.39.97, Leaf Spy Pro now supports two Bluetooth 4.x LE approved adapters, with the LELink being highly recommended, available via Amazon. The use of Bluetooth 4.x LE is beneficial as it eliminates the need for pairing and reduces power consumption for both the Android device and the Leaf. Notably, the LELink also facilitates functionality with the iOS version of Leaf Spy Pro.

A built-in help file is accessible as a PDF by requesting it via email with the subject line "Android PDF Help" sent to WattsLeft.meter@gmail.com.

The Leaf Spy Lite and Leaf Spy applications present a variety of crucial data, including:

 <li>Voltage of each of the 96 cell pairs (highlighted if shunt active)</li>
 <li>Minimum, average, maximum cell pair voltages</li>
 <li>Histogram of cell pair voltages</li>
 <li>Battery temperature readings from multiple sensors</li>
 <li>Battery AHr rating, an indicator of remaining capacity that decreases with age</li>
 <li>Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)</li>
 <li>Odometer reading</li>
 <li>Quick Charge connections count</li>
 <li>L1/L2 Charge connections count</li>
 <li>EVSE maximum available amps</li>
 <li>EVSE voltage</li>
</ul>

Additionally, Leaf Spy expands on this data by providing:
<ul>
 <li>Battery energy level in GIDs and kWh</li>
 <li>A resettable energy usage meter with Wh resolution</li>
 <li>Graphical display of State of Charge (SOC), GIDs, and Distance to Empty (DTE)</li>
 <li>A remaining distance meter measured in miles/km until low battery events based on user-defined efficiency settings</li>
 <li>A graphic representation of battery temperature with minimum, average, and maximum values</li>
 <li>Tire pressure readings for each tire, including low pressure and delta pressure warnings applicable to 2011-2017 models</li>
 <li>Ambient temperature information</li>
 <li>A logging function that captures most data, optionally including GPS location, which can be exported to a CSV file for easy import into Excel.</li>
</ul>

The "Pro" version enhances functionality by allowing users to perform operations that would typically necessitate a dealership visit:
<ul>
 <li>Modification of automatic door lock/unlock settings</li>
 <li>Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)</li>
 <li>Registering tire positions necessary after tire rotations or seasonal changes for optimal vehicle performance</li>
 <li>The ability to reset DTCs from selected ECUs</li>
 <li>Control over Vehicle Sound Pedestrian (VSP) sounds in 2013-2017 Leafs; this function is disabled in 2018 and newer models</li>
 <li>Clearing P3102 DTC following a battery replacement.</li>
</ul>
